FAQ

Can Telehealth therapy be as effective as face-to-face?

Yes! Research shows that Telehealth sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy sessions. There are many other benefits to Telehealth as well, such as saving money on transportation, no travel time or traffic, potentially not having to secure childcare, and not having to shower!

Can I bring my baby to sessions?

Yes, please feel free to bring your infant to session if it makes you feel more comfortable. I want therapy to be about you, and if having your baby close by is beneficial to your process, then so be it. My office is not toddler-proofed, so having older children in session could not only be distracting for you, but could pose a safety risk. I do not allow children to be left unsupervised in the waiting room.

Do you only provide therapy to women?

Yes, I am a women's mental health provider. I focus on issues pertaining to women, specifically the perinatal woman and the woman coping with stressors related to parenting a young child(ren). If desired, there are times when a woman's partner or support person may join the session, as partner support can be crucial to a woman's path to wellness. This is only if the woman is comfortable with this decision and if it appears beneficial. If couples counseling is needed/desired, I can refer you to a colleague that specializes in this area.
